im looking for an exhaust but i cant have a loud exhaust
for example i ride with a raptor with a yoshimura and its offenesive to me!
but is slip ons quieter than full exhaust? and is there a benefit to a full over a slip on with stock motor?
ive been told by alot of people that the 400 ex stock headpipe is large enough and just get a slip on unitl u build the motor
all input is appreciated

Yea the stock headpipe is plenty. I have the stock header on my 416 and i keep up with bikes that are more built than mine.:macho

Basically noise = power in most cases. Most of the quiet pipes out there dont give you any gains at all so you might as well stay stock.

i really like my HMF slip-on with the quiet core. its not as quiet as stock, but is quite a bit quieter than without the core installed. to tell you what it kinda sounds like, go to your friends raptor and put your hand infront of the pipe about 2-3 inches. i dont know how else to explain in. i would think that you'd be happy with it

You could look into the FMF Q series it seems to be ok.

Yea but everyone knows that DG and Cobra pipes decrease power and just make noise, that is why they cost half as much as a good pipe. And notice I said IN MOST CASES, which i was meaning to exclude pipes like these.
