Hey i had a 300ex and to romove the key you just unpluged 2 simple wires!

i was looking at my 400ex and i saw the key plugs were much different and hard to hot wire! since my 400ex has race plastics and the hole get up it looks dumb with the key just laying there.

what do you guys do with your key unit? and how do u remove it?

I put a regular 3 way switch in so I don't have to mess with the key. There are 3 wires that you need from the 5. If you mess with it a bit, you should figure it out. But you really only need 2 to get it to run.

i made bracket out of a piece of metal and bolted it to the frame by the right front top shock mount, it looks good and is unique.

ok heres what i did

look at the little bracket wire that is on the steering stem clamp, I opened that up and closed the key assembly in there

its nice cause then i can still fully shut off the quad while not having to have the key in an obvious location

Here is how to hot wire it, if that is what you end up doing. Dosen't look to hard to me! Good luck.
