Hey, I will be going down to lil sahara on halloween, and it'll be my second time down. I forgot how much is costs to get in to the dunes. Also, does that one shop right in the cam area sell whips, or do I have to go to one of those other shops out of the camp? I am only 14, and am going with a friend so I don't know if they'll have an extra whip. anyone else gonna be there on halloween?

I won't be down that weekend....it's $7 a day to ride and yes, you can buy a whip at the shop in the camp. I forgot mine last weekend & had to pick one up....got a guaranteed whip w/spring for $20.

Thanks guys! last time I went with my friend, I had a CR125, and a blaster, and I bought those one cheap whips from that small shop outa camp, and I broke both of them in about 2 days. This time I 'll make sure to buy ones with sprigs!

Everyone going down to Little Sahara, OK that weekend should hook up and ride. I will be in a 98 red Chevy Silverado with a blue/white 250R with two buddies in a white S-10 pulling a trailer with two 250R quads with one 250R atc. Hope to see some of you down there. Tom:D

According to Weatherunderground, on Thursday the 5th, it is supposed to be in the high 50's! It will be pretty cold at night, but hell, nothing a few cold ones cant warm up!:D

Does everyone here stay at the North campground? I can tell from genralg's pic he's in the North. I think I might be the only one that stays in the South grounds.:p

Weather is looking like it is gonna be clear now for this weekend. As long as the forecasted temps don't drop any lower by the end of the week, Me the lil woman and the two rugrats will be there.

Hey, GeneralG, I was parked on top of a dune, and Saw you and a bunch of 400's right next to me, It was saturday I think, I was with my friends who where jumping that dune on the raptors, one was black, the other was blk+wht, I was gonna say hey but you left. I was in the north campgound too, we were in my friends dad's big motor home, with a stacker trailer. U mighta seen us!

I plan on being on the road no later than 1:00pm Friday. That will put us down there around 7:00pm. Hopefully, I can get out of work a little earlier and hit the road. I hope there will be an electric site when I get there.

Sounds good! We will be leaving probably around 4 which will put us there around 6:30-7 on Friday. My brother-in-law will be there Thursday night. He will be driving a Tan F350 V10 with a white 16' enclosed. Desciptive enough for ya? haha jp!

We will also be driving a maroon '02 4dr Chevy HD with a big black trailer carrying 1 Banshee, 1 red & yellow 400ex, Mojave, and a new Blaster. Without pics, this info is about worthless, but I will look for your trailer. You will proabably see a 2 hot chicks with us, one is my gf and the other is ledofthezep's woman, their sisters!

Can't wait 'til Friday! See ya this weekend man!

RH1N08d9, you should of hit me or something..... I could not believe how HIGH those guys were jumping!!!! They were at least 15-20 feet in the air! I'm a wimp when it comes to jumping, at least that high. One of my buddies who rides with me said the guy on the black&white Raptor was dressed up as Evil Knievel on Halloween and doing SUPERMAN and Heelclicker JUMPS!!!!

Yellow416ex, that is a nice EX! I like the frame color with the plastic!

I usually stay in the North campground or Cowboy camp only because it is closer for me. It is nice however to stay in the south camp ground becuase there seems to be more going on, especially on BIG weekends.

Doesn't look like I will be able to go back down this weekend. Probably won't go back to LS until spring time. Getting a bit to cold, at least at night.

Hope everyone has a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIDE HARD!

Right on! 2 weeks ago it was pretty busy with loose sand, so hopefully there has been some rain. There has been plenty of wind around here the past week or so, if they have had any of it, dunes will be razorbacked like no other - that could get hairy:blah:

I just got back Sunday from going to Little Sahara for the first time. Man, I had a blast!!!! I stayed in the South campgrounds, I don't know if anyone saw my group. We were camping in the tent area with a red silverado and a white s-10. We had 4 250r's with us. Hope to see some of you in the future down there. Thanks. Tom

Yeah....last dune trip a couple weekends ago we were out riding & all the sudden shee started to spit & couch at WOT. It was like someone flipped a switch. I've cleaned the carbs-which were crystal clean anyhow(need to jet up a little bit, but that doesn't explain the problem suddenly happening), air filter is clean, don't have the E-brake assembly anymore-plug is disconnected, have disconnected the TORRS control assembly, & plugs are fine...bit rich but she starts 1st or 2nd kick like always & idles fine, will rap up but when it hits WOT shee spitts & couchs. It never got real hot, never has, compression has been at 150lbs each cyl for over 4yrs now. So I dunno...I'm thinking it's got to be with the coil, or maybe I got a cracked reed.? :confused: If it's reeds, hopefully I can get some down there...Dunno what else it would be...if I don't get it figured out before we leave tomorrow I'll just have to dick with it when I get down there. If nothing else, I'll just kick back & relax w/some brewha's. ;)

yeah, it sounds to me like you have a cracked reed. I dont know a ton about banshees but have rebuilt a few motors for people with shees. One of the ones I worked on did the same thing, so i told the guy to put new reeds in it, and that fixed it...so from what i've read, that's my bet is a cracked reed. hope this helps. If you get the reeds at LST&R tell Don & Lance hi for me, we dont get down there as often as we used to. hopefully that changes since i bought the fiance a 300ex. she loved it.

I am almost positive I have seen you guys at the dunes. I'm from a little old town called Conway Springs. ever heard of it? I'm in school at Pittsburg State right now so it really cuts down on the number of trips I make to the dunes. We wanted to make one more trip down before it got cold, but it looks like we're too late.:mad:

riiiight.... the weather used to not bother me at all, but it seems like the older i get the more i gripe about bad weather. at least i dont go to bed at 6pm and wake up just in time for the 700 Club every morning yet....good thing is, i'm in the best riding shape of my life and so going out and riding hard all day doesnt bother me. when that does, it's time to sell the race bike a build a Shee for the dunes.

:( Well, this really sucks. I had some things come up at work today that I'm gonna have to take care of tomorrow afternoon and Saturday. Looks like I'm gonna miss out on this trip.:mad: Boy, I was trying to come up with all kinds of ideas on how to get out of this but no dice. My two little ones are pissed, they only had one trip to the sandbox this year.

Well, crack open 7 or 8 for me and hopefully I'll catch you guys on the next trip.

I'm probably gonna stay in C Class one more year. The only reason I did so well this year is because I was the only one that raced the entire series. I dont have the skills or the machine to move up to B yet.

Welll...it was fun. The weather was kinda shatty but hey, your at the sand dunes! I didnt get to ride at all on Friday but did drink 2 cases of beer between ledofthezep and myself that night. Saturday it drizzled all day, but riding was pretty nice. Saturday night was the quietest night I have seen in a long time! About 2am on Sunday, there were probably 6 ppl out riding...it was a nice breack from having what seems like millions of ppl at the dunes every weekend.

Hehe...right on zephead....I couldn't ride my shee so I had nothing better to do that get drunk...and drunk I did. Rode a buddy's EX on Saturday night...Sunday early morning & hadn't been out 20 minutes before I had'r belly up! hehe I'm sure alcohol had no influence...:p Wasn't bad, didn't even bend the bars...was a slow roll, didn't even slam me to the ground but I did manage to crack a piece on the visor of my helmet.:rolleyes: I'm used to a wider ride & the ex didn't want to powerslide when I wanted it to...just hooked & over we went!:D Was pretty funny, very happy that I didn't funk it up.;)
