why???? it wont line up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

putting back together my 440. well we bought a fcr 39mm . the throttle cable out of the top of the carb wont let my tank line up ant there fore my plastics. any one else know what to do???asap please im working on it now

[Bad Habit]

I didn't have a problem with the throttle cable hitting the tank. My problem was a cap screw that holds the top carb cover on was hitting the tank. I fashioned some new mounts for the tank out of 1/2" rubber. It kicked the back of the tank up enough to clear the carb. The only thing it affected was that the front of the seat sticks up a bit.
