how much hp does a good 440 put out and what is he best 440 kit ?

you are lookin at around 40hp and i would go with a je kit with a cam and fcr carb

440 with hot cam stage 2 fcr 39 mm 220 cfm on porting 11:1 wiseco kn direct on carb yoshi pipe complete


42 hp tuned on dyno

THAT FAR FROM SUCKS, YOUR NEW 450 QUADS ARE ONLY PUSHIN 36 OR 38. SURE BEATS SPENDING ANOTHER 7,500 ON A NEW QUAD. MINE IS ALMOST PAID FOR.

if i remember right CT 440s put out around 40hp. but i did read somewhere that they make 45rwhp.

i thought that too, its very sad, but i could pull out easily yammis 450, who take out 47hp when jetted on dyno, and take out a few 727 in 400foots...:devil:

That number may not be a good indication of a properly built 440's potential if that Wiseco "11:1" piston wasn't set up correctly and it's really about 9.7:1.
