ok i got the pipe today and threw it on. It had six disks on it. Started no problem. I let it warm up and then rode it. It ran great and i could fell a huge difference in power. I read the directions and they said to try the pipe with the stock jetting before you make any adjustments and that it will possibly work with the stock jetting. Well ill find out when i take it for a long rife.

I'm running 12 disk with 40 pilot/152 main and needle in the stock postion with a k&n with outerwear. Putting more disk in and jetting up on the main will make it faster on the top end.

more disk = more top end, but you also need the larger main to get more fuel in there when it starts building rpms at full throttle. If you don't have a filter yet I would suggest also getting one, or at least remove the airbox lid with the stock filter - assuming you aren't riding in a lot of mud.

And yeah it will be a little louder probably, but e-series still aren't that loud conpare to a lot of pipes out there.

I think I'm just going to try the old e-series with 18 disk first since I already have the extra disk. I want to get a +2 chrome stem and some other stuff first then I may get the LRD.

Yep all stock bore. I've run either a 155 or 160 since it was new with no problems at all.

I have the wb with no spark arrestor, k&n filter with the lid on, and I am running a 165. Pretty cold up here though...runs great! but I am thinking about going with a 42 or 45 piolet jet, and no choke

run it for a couple weeks and see how it is. my quad seemed to run fine after i put my exhaust system on but after a while im noticing i could go a little richer on the main. my advise is rejet it. it might run fine now, but youll probably get more power after a rejet.

ya ill have to see what happens. I hope i dont have to because i want to be able to put my stock exhaust back on for snow riding this winter.

dannyboy20
10-24-2003, 06:09 AM
do u have the full exhaust or just the slip on ?

took her to the drag strip last night. went 67.86mph i did not run it with the stock pipe so i don't know for sure how much faster it is, but i didn't think that was to bad:devil:

If you didn't re-jet than you arn't going to notice as big of a power gain to were as if you did. Put an aftermarket filter on, and a jet kit, that should get you to 70mph:cool:

RIjon the easiest way to check the packing is to take the disks off and take a flashlight, or a cylinder bore light if you have one and look in you can usually see. I don't know is repacking worth it, I did it once like right after i got my 440, along with putting in a quiet core. The packing was gone after i think a weekso for the effort i decided its not worth it. Did any of u guy run ino the same thing? And i hated the quiet core so that "fell off" along with all the disks  either way i still like the system o yeah do any of u have it leak where the header connects to the muffler? No matter how i've put it on it does it. Should i try some of that red goopy crap (forgot what its called) like we use on snowmobile pipes?

Thanks for any help......

well i just put in all 12 disks in my E-series and have yet to touch the carb. I rode it for 2 minutes and it seamed to be fine. Before that i was running 8 disks . Rode that for 4 hours with no problems on stock jetting. Am i going to hurt the motor without jetting.

Greg Z
10-27-2003, 06:14 PM
yeah you are.........

dannyboy20
10-27-2003, 06:21 PM
in what way ? But if its running fine how is it going to hurt it ?

RIjon
10-27-2003, 06:50 PM
Just have to watch out for a lean condition

That is when you start damaging parts (Pinging, detonation)

Do some plug Reading

dannyboy20
10-27-2003, 07:15 PM
my plug was blackish

with airbox lid in place, slip on, and filter:

a 152 in the hot months and a 155 in the cooler months. running a bike lean could very easily cause damage over time. i would also change your pilot jet to a 42 so your not lean at idle.

dannyboy20
10-28-2003, 04:02 AM
running lean mean too much air flow ?
