Harlen, I have been going crazy to see if you were going to post any pics. Sorry I couldn't find your wife to take some pics while you were racing. I was running everywhere keeping up with my boy and the competition out there!!!!
Hope you can get those pictures up!!!!

The Women's Championship was on the line, and it came down to the last race of the year, just like last year. Last Year, Stephanie won the last race and the championship, but this year it was Traci turn again. They battled hard all day and Stephanie did get a lead for a while over Traci, but the bottleneck gave Traci the oppurtunity she needed to make up time, and they battled hard till the end. Traci and Stephanie came to the finish line back to back with Traci out front. Within a couple hundred feet of the finish line Traci hit a tree and got stuck for a second and the race to the finish became very intense. Stephanie, could captialize on Traci problem because there wasn't anyway around. John Rowling, Leaped over the fence like a deer running from Pappy and got Traci going again. The finish was dramatic just like the season, and I am glad that I was able to be apart of it.

Congrats to Traci, Stephanie, and Angel for another great year of racing. They give other women the courage to race and ride!

Stephanie and Traci on the line side by side. They were in great spirits and seemed very relaxed for such an important race.

Angel Atwell only finished 3 laps out of 5, but she finished the year in 3rd place!

The Women start was exciting with Stephanie and Angel taking the lead. Traci went up on two wheels and looks like she almost lost it:eek:

Kim Muzzarelli ran only her second GNCC, but ran into problems and only finished two laps, but it was great seeing her!

Here she is approaching the hardest hill of the day!

The Stock class also finished with a dramatic twist with Tyler Lenig taking the overall in the morning. Tyler has been running all year, and he seized the moment at the race and took the win. I know there has been some hard feelings alternate route at the bottleneck, but that is racing and he followed the rules. Tyler is an outstanding individual and I am very proud of him. I am sure he will prove that his win wasn't a fluke next year. Maybe Tyler and I will both make the podium next year in the Morning:eek:

As for William Howell, He rode hard and deserve alot of credit for the outstanding ride he put in. William has been switching classed all year and doing very well. I wonder class he will be racing next year?

Richard Travalena Polaris on the line. It looks like John Wright ended up taking Richard Travalena 2nd place spot for the year after a late year winning streak on his YFZ.

Tyler and Jeff.

Jeff Stoess made a Great comeback this year after being semi retired from GNCC racing. Most, probably don't know that Jeff was a very successful in the early 90's racing in the GNCC Series as a Pro with several top 10 overall finishes.

Jeff and Rick Cecco proved this year the Cannondale was a very viable race quad if properly updated and prepped. I expect to see Jeff to be a very competive force next year as a Pro Again!
Congrats on your Great Season and #14 Plate for next year.

Chris Borich, All I can say is WOW! Chris is an incredible racer with very succesful future ahead of him! He is only 21 years old and is already a very dominant racer after only racing Pro for few years. He charges hard every race even when things go wrong. He is very lucky to have such a great family. His father, Joey Borich, has given him the support that most racers could only dream of having. I am very greatful that I have had the oppurtunity to race with Chris locally because him and his father has taught me so much this year, and I am very thankful! Chris will be running the well earned #2 Plate next year,so Bill better watch out because Chris has moved up every year:eek:

Both mine and Harlen's are cracked in the same spot. Right side where the top sub frame bolts into the frame. Of course Harlen points it out to me after he sat on my quad. You broke it Harlen. http://www.ricoracing.netfirms.com/Smilies/nanny_nanny.gif

Andris Lagzdins & his Pit ManTony. Andy put in another great season and he is only getting faster. He has been dominating District 7 for years on his Quad and Motorcycle with several local championships! We call him the Iron Man because he raced his motorcycle for two hours and then his quad for another hour and half, back to back, and Win both races. He has been a great friend to me this year and I expect great things out of him next year because he is going to only focus on racing his quad for the first time!

Rob Hertz and Tom Hertz have been racing the GNCC for years and have done extremely well, but this year they couldn't get the monkey off their back and didn't have the season that they are capable of you. They are both great guys and I am thankful that I have had the chance to race with them locally. I expect them both to be up front again next year!

Rob Hertz made his first attempt at switching to a 4stroke after racing his R for years. Unfortunately, things didn't go well for him this weekend, but hopefully, he will have time to adjust before next year!

Jeremy Rice had one of the Best comebacks of the Year! He ran into problem afte problem early in the season and I missed 5 rounds in the middle of the season to come back and finish the last 4 rounds in the top 11 overall. He ended up earning #18 for next year with only 4 great finishes at the end. If he can stay healthy and avoid problems next year, I expect him to do even better.

His quad was forsale, so I hope he is only switching machines for next year?

Matt Smiley had a very uncharacteristic beginning of the season. Last Year, Matt was mr. consistency and was on the podium almost every race, but this year he ran into problem the first three races of the season. This would have discouraged most racers, but not Matt. He had confidence in himself and put on a great show for the rest of the year. He managed to make the podium 8 out of the last 10 races and he finished year with the #4 plate.

Matt Switched to the YFZ after the break and hasn't missed beat and is very excited about running it again next year!

Santo Derisi Season started as one of his best with two podium finishes, but problems plaqued him at the end of the season, but he still managed to earn a very respectful #8 for next year. He has a very positive attitude and is pumped from earlier this year, so when he gets back on track everyone better watch out! I am thankful to have him as a member of EXriders.com

William Yokely is one of the happiest racers I know! Everytime I see him, he is smiling ear to ear. He is one of the most down to earth guys, and I think he is a great role model because he makes himself so approachable. He seems to always have time for his fans and that is one of the reasons why I personally love this sport! As you can see, almost everyone of our Pro Racers are down to earth great guys. Congrats William on another successful year! William will be #3 again next year, even though he switched to a 4 Stroke after racing a 2 Stroke for years!

I hope you enjoyed the Pics of everyone. All I have left is a few of me from the Afternoon race that my wife Tina took of me!

My season has been full of ups and downs, and didn't go the way I would have liked it Natonally. I had a very successful run racing the Vet class, but I didn't do well racing as well as I could racing 4 Stroke A. Locally, I had a great season with several top 3 finishes and finished the year behind Chris Borich and Mike Krachun.

Next year, I will focus on running the Nationals! I will be retiring my Z400s and racing a HONDA again next year, and I am excited! I have big plans for the next year, and I thank all of those who helped make this year possible for me!

I am looking up at a guy flipping down the hill!

Thanks Harlen for providing us with all the pictures this year. I have yet to go to a GNCC but, looking at all these pictures makes me know what to expect when I do go to one :blah: . This is the best site on the web for pictures of the GNCC races.

Thanks again :) .

I too have yet to attend a national race. Heck I haven't even attended a local XC race. But after viewing these pics from the races, I've given up resisting the urge to try it. If all goes well, I might even try to go to the Ironman next year to experience it first hand. Time to renew my gym membership.:macho After seeing Frank Grimplin start at his age, I guess 33 isn't to old. Like you said, great inspiration.

Now I just gotta find a way to tell the wife.:blah:

Yellow416ex, I am 37 yrs old and just started racing xc late this year. I ran a couple of the local races here and ran at sparta and crawfordsville. Let me tell you now, it is more addictive than crack. Once you try it you will like it.

Doibugu2, I don't really know. I was sitting on the back row of the first years. Judging by all the KFX along with the a couple Polaris scramblers I would say it is one of the utility classes.

If you want I can send you a pic of it or you can go to my imagestation and order prints.
