well guys call me a trader but i was able to steal a yfz450 for 5300 with less than 20 hrs on it. i couldnt let this deal pass me by. and guys i love this thing, its so light and very quick

haha color dont matter, i got a blue one, i wish i got the white one for the candy apple red frame so i could slap the clue pastics on it but things didnt work out that way cause this one was used and i stole it for 5300 so it doesnt matter to me. its gonna get rebuilt this winter with different color paint and hopefully it will have the walsh components on it and such for motocross.

i think yamaha really made a great quad, i have always owned honda but ever since the release of this quad i think that is the only quad that made honda sweat and loose sleep. its a really nice quad!

I have had my 04 red/white YFZ for 3 months now. Hard woods riding, jumping, mxing...etc. and no chipped or flaking paint.

I added the GYTR pipe and yfz needle/jet kit and a full compliment of GYTR skids and this thing rocks! It will absolutely smoke my Yoshi/jetted z400 (sold) which smoked all 400exs without internal engine mods.

So, If A smokes B and B smokes C, then A is high. I mean, A will smoke C.

A=YFZ, B=Z400, C=400ex.

If you think a piped 400ex will keep up with a piped YFZ, you have never ridden both.

Obviously you don't ride hard enough, I've chipped the paint off of mine with my boots already, and installing a few things knocked some of the paint off. :rolleyes:

should i get a white/red yfz450 for $5000? it's a guy i know, and i've ridden it and i'm absolutely in love with it...but i'm going to have to rob a bank or something to come up with the money, lol, or sell my 400ex.

sell the 400ex if you really want it & get the rest in a loan from the bank with your parents cosigning it for you. thats what i would do...;)

Unlike some idiots, I don't kick my bike, I actually take care of it. My AC didn't come fitted right, and when I put it on it scraped some of the paint off. And uh.. my jetting is spot on, thank you very much.

apparently IQ's dropped while I was out riding slowly (LOL). You can put a chimp on the YFZ and it will still smoke the 400ex.

And, NTPRacing#19, your girlfriend called, she asked me if I was done with her finger nail polish. She is on her way. I guess I am the better rider.;)

pic of my yfz. gytr pipe coming soon. this bike is so quiet w/ the stock pipe. raced it sunday verses my piped raptor. had to start in 2nd gear, cuz all it does is spin. dead even in about 200 yrd. depended on who got the jump.

If you type in how much you really like the YFZ and give some comparisons to other quads...you will likely incur the invective of the "dimenishing returns" group who believe that R cannot be improved upon...and yet everyone who has an R, (I did), has modded the heck out of it....irony....maybe.

I like the R and all of its forms, but, FOR ME, I really like the tRemendous grunt and howl of the YFZ, properly piped and jetted.

The dif between a piped and jetted YFZ vs Stock is like comparing the performance of a mustang gt vs SC saleen.

I have not seen a white frame YFZ yet, my friend Bigbore81 had it on his crf. Looked good when it was clean. His crf should be very sick this year, bling bling ;) . Him, Justin (he won the Open A this year), and I should be doing the same color combo for fenders. White fronts and blue rears.

NTPRacing#19-You plan on keeping your stock wing arm on your YFZ? I don't know what to do, i have the stock one sitting there. I don't know if I should put it on, or buy an after market one. Then if i got an after market one i wouldn't be so afraid of breaking the stock one. Only thing keeping me from an after market one is the $$$ :rolleyes: . I have seen pics of the LSR and burguard ones, not impressed. I guess i was spoiled on my 400ex with the walsh swinger. I want to see the walsh and gibson swing arms for the YFZ. If one really catches my eye, i am sure i can find the cash for one.

it should be an exciting year..the yfz's have already proved themself..........it is the trx 450r's turn:devil: ....im gonna race a blaster/400ex or jsut a regular blaster fully done up...........my dad i think is sticking to the cannondale.......and my rbother is going to have a FULL herrmann racing trx450r

today i shaved the fenders, took the fan out, took off the parking brake, took off the lights, removed the taillight and brake light crap, and i discovered my subframe is bent :grr: so now i got to try to get it back straight but i highly doubt that. the guy who had it before me must have done it when he rolled it and i didnt catch it before i finally bought it, my fault or it wasnt bent cause it sure as heck didnt look bent when i went bought it cause i inspected that thing like no tomorrow, i have a track that turns mostly to the right and its bent to the left just a bit and i think my fat but may have done it cause a few times ive hit the berms a bit too hard and got a few charlie horses in the arse from that horrible seat lol.

:eek2: i'm sure that frame had to have been punished really hard for it to bend b/c its a racing bike that should withstand large jumps on those shocks...you have a warranty?

yea but i dunno if it transferable, im not worried if its something i gotta replace i replace it and try to straighten out the bad one and if i can do that then ill have a spare. im pretty sure him rolling it didnt bend it cause if it was rolled that hard more than a subframe would be bent. and the way that it bent looks like it came from the side and got struck in the middle and bowed it, its not a rolling accident no that i look at it more. and i do have some crazy blue berries on my left arse cheek.

Are there a lot of problems with the subframes? I know Cody Anderson said he cracked his or something, but I'm not sure. I'm thinking about getting a YFZ and don't want to have that happening.

im sure all aluminum subframes are on the weak side becuase its basically just a square design with very little triangle reinforcement to take the side to side punishment. ive looked at it and thats what i think and im prolly wrong but mine bent and it would just happen again if i got another one mostlikely.

ehh you can gusset aluminum if you the aluminum sittin around and aluminum wire feed and all the right stuff to do it, and def the skill to weld aluminum :eek: but the subframes need to be stronger.

I measured my swing arm today to see if it was twisted. I saw the fenders were not parallel to the ground when i took it apart. I put the pivot bolt in the swing arm and got that nice and level. Then meausred the center of the axle by the hubs on each side. I got about 15/16 - 1 inch difference. So my fenders were crooked for a reason.
