FDO motors

Alright guys, i'm thinking about keeping my 400ex and racing it out, and I'm thinking about FDO for a motor. What are their prices for motors? And for you guys that have them, how do you like them?

Paul, I'd have to say that when I spoke with the guys (Bill and Mike) at FDO, I was truely impressed with their technical abilities with the 400ex motor. We talked for hours on the phone one evening and went into every detail about getting every last ounce of power out that thumper. I even gave him some of my favoraite vendors for machine work and tranny work. I'd bet you won't regret it at all sending them your motor.
As far as having them do work for me, I hadn't yet but my new 450R crank will be shipped to thier crank house for stroking. Can you say 520R? :)

I too have talked to him on the phone and he is a very cool guy. He knows his stuff. My riding budy has a fresh 493 stroker built by him and he likes it alot.

i'm thinking about the 440 stroker kit so i don't have to run in the open class at nationals. What do you guys think or know about that motor?

I am very happy with my 493 I would reccomend fdo !!!

hey paul400ex this is bill from FDO RACING if you are looking at building you 400ex to a 440 stroker we don't do 440 strokers.we can make more HP out of a regular 440 than most shops 440 stroker.it saves you money that way.my 440 last time we dynoed at put out 48 hp and we are trying to gain more yet.there is nothing secrert about mine anyone on here can have the same excat same motor as mine.if you are serious call us at 740-967-1078 mike is truely the guy you would want to talk to about doing your motor but i can answer most of your questins and we have dyno sheets of just about all the diffrent 400ex motors we build.thanks to everyone on here who has good about us.if it wasn't for you guys we wouldn't be doing what we are today.thanks to everyonje again BILL
