Will not Start?

Ok, after i changed my gaskets in my 300ex i went to try and start it and it wouldnt start. I have spark on the spark plug, and im pretty sure i got the timing perfect. What is it.
Another thing, my carb is kinda messing up, like it is getting stuck wide open. Would this cause it not to start.

If you carb is stuck wide open then your flooding the motor out and it won't run. I would clean your carb first then go over your timing job. You might need a new throttle cable if it keeps getting stuck.
