I just rebuilt my bike it is a 440 with 11 to 1 JE piston a hrc came and a k&n filter with a ct exhaust. My question is where should my FCR be at? What main jet what needle? (why that needle) Also what should my screws be set at? which is which also? I have heard you are the man at getting FCR dialed in, so i figured I would ask you !!!! Thanks for the info in advance

I would start with a 175 main,it should be pretty close. a 52 pilot and an EMP needle in the middle clip, fuel screw 2.5 turns out and the adjustable air jet 2 turns out. This should get you pretty close.:)

Which carb is better? Lectron, Edelbrock, stock modified, Kehin? I have a 440 with 11.7 comp., ported head, custom pipe(large headpipe). Web cam stage1, K&N, modified air box, went down two teeth on rear sprocket. The motor flattens out on top end. Jetting is right on. The stock carb flows 38.4mm. Looking for a different opinion. Thnaks.

TC, what jetting you running?

most agree that the fcr is the best carb as far as performance gains.

I'm also running the cooler plug that you recommended I think it is a 9 does thats make a difference in the size of jets and adjustments?

Should I be able to pickup a EMP needle from my local dealer? If so is it from a fcr carb , or is it a special order needle? Thanks for all the help!!

sorry, i can't help much with the fcr carb since i am running a stock carb. however, the drp9z plug should not change your jetting. it may make the bike run a little cooler but that is it. it may have a few stumbles until the bike warms up too and it may also make it a little harder to start.
