Hi I've notised latly after I let off the throttle when the rpms are still high, it backfires pretty bad, what thing do I mess with to get more fuel in at idle-1/8th throttle?.thanks-darren

Isn't this fairly normal? I know it's normal in older cars, they always backfire when going downhill... :confused:

I'm not sure but I think its hard on something in the motor, and I can cure it by putting in more fuel at idle-1/8th throttle, please someone help me out, trip tmorrow, thanks-darren

Bump the pilot jet size to a 42 (seems to work for almost everyone). You can also adjust the idle mixture screw. Also check for exhaust leaks near the flange.

well my pilot is at 45, what way do I turn the idle mixture screw to give it more fuel?

how many turns out on the fuel skrew are you? i have a similar setup as you and i am running a 45 pilot at about 2.75 turns out on the skrew. i am using the stock needle, one notch down from stock.
