I have a 426 in need of a rebuild and the cylinder needs to be rebored. I don't want a 440 and would rather not buy a new sleeve is there a step between the 426 and the 440? If so can you provide a link for me or where I can get it.

Thanks.

Nope your at the limit of your sleeve unless you could get a custom piston made and I wouldnt go that route for the sake of reliability. Maybe look for a stock cylinder on ebay or something.

Ya taco is right you are at the end of what the stock sleeve can handle. I have a sleeve that is 88mm (426) and can go all the way to 445. The new sleeve should solve your problem.:)

Is this a tapered sleeve colby?

This is why you don't go straight to a 426 kiddies..

Good luck on a fix...

I have a buddy that went from stock right to a 430. He used a wiesco piston. I would like to know about that sleeve too colby so when I have to rebuild mine I can install that sleeve since I will have to put a new one in anyway.

Yes they are a tapered sleeve. There are a couple of different sleeve available you can sleeve it back to stock or get the sleeve that I mentioned that starts at 426 and goes to 445.

i am not sure what your question is but:

stock piston is 85mm
406 is 86mm
416 is 87mm
426 is 88mm
426 is the farthest you can go using the stock sleeve
440 is 89mm
