that has to be the shortest post I have ever seen from you!

Well, you got me there Jim :)

For all the other posts, I live in washington state and this was caught in the puget sound just south of seattle. Puget sound is known for its octopus, but this is the first Ive ever seen.

We brought it on board and got sufficiently freaked out with it grabbing us before we finannly threw the whole thing, pot and all back in. There were 5 or 6 crabs in there, the turkey leg for bait and the huge octopus. When we pulled the trap an hour later the only thing in it was the zip tie used to hold the turkey leg in the trap. everythig else was gone.

This guy was caught in about 70 feet of water about 200' off shore.

Shoulda kept it and ate it! It may be a bit big for good eating though. I haven't cooked any myself but I have eaten octopus before and it wasn't that big.

we were fishing just south of seattle. We got about 20 legal keepers.

The biggest was a granpa crab about 9"across the carapace

OMG! I waited for the picture to load before I read the posts and holy cow! I almost threw my laptop across the room. I'm so freaking scared of those things. When I go in the ocean I'm afraid of freaking octopi and squids, not sharks. go figure. that thing is nasty man. they better not be down here.:uhoh:
