alright, im having a tough decision on some rims and tires. I was goin to go with the new razrs then i thought about the old ones and now im thinkin about some ITP holeshots. I dont want the MX version of anything b.c i do trail riding to. I was lookin at the ITP holeshot cross country ones. they look pretty damn good to me.

--now about rims. I have always wanted the cool lookin ITP beadlocks. I really like them but have no clue how much they are or where i can buy them at. Any help appreciated.

the xc holeshots are a pretty hard compound i would go with the holeshot xcr's.

Have you thought about Kenda Klaws? They seem to be a very good tire and i'll probably be getting them when I can.

Do think you really need beadlocks? They run about $100 - $150 each.

hey...i dont need beadlocks i was just goin to get them b.c i like the qualities of them b.c i didnt know the price. but what other kinda rims are there? my friend has douglas red labels, but i dont like them b.c the outer ring on his is all beat up already and i dont think they are that strong. So does anyone disagree with the ITP Holeshot XCR's? does that stand for cross country race or something?

Every tire I ever bought were the holeshots. ITP makes a mean tire. I love them. I would go with the XCRs because they are for the trails but have the mx style tread. Its pretty much a 6ply mx tire. As far as the rims go i got a pair of ITP T-9s and they are awsome. I agree the red labels and itp .190s the edges get beat pretty damn bad. I would check out ebay. They got great deals on rims and tires.

Another option would be reinforced rims. They have a ring that is welded into the lip. You can buy the rings seperatly and have them welded in. I'm not sure where to get them but they are out there.

ITP has the Baja rim that has the ring rolled into it. Haven't heard any long term use reports yet. They are $90 - $100 each.

I have a set of ITP .190 fronts with the odd ball offset. They are fairly banged up but they still hold air.

ITP Baja rims are really nice. They are the same as the reinforced race wheels only the ring is rolled in instead of welded and they cost less. I have put mine through hell and they have not bent yet. They look pretty sweet too:)

yea if you have a little extra money get the bajas, its a tough design and cheaper than beadlocks, i have no personal experience with these rims but i've seen em in action and they look good

the holeshot xcr is a tough tire, pick up a 20" rear and that will work good for trails and any other kind of riding you want to throw at em

burgards beadlocks are $120 each

i was just checkin out the Burgard ones and i think they are awesome. But i was just wondering about the sizes. it says the biggest they are is a 9" i was thinkin about goin to 10" should i just stay with 9"? and about the offset, it says 3x5 i think what does that mean?

what kind of riding do you do?

only use 10" if you run flattrack

9" is best for trails and stuff with 20 or 22" tires
8" is best for mx with 18" tires

10-18-2003, 08:16 AM
22" tires=more ground clearance & faster top speed....harder to do wheelies....im going back to 20's come halloween. I dont know what tires to get though for the back.......my budget is $110 with shipping.

I'm sure you could pick some up at the quad shop for $110

if you get 22" rears slap a 14 tooth front sproket on there and you'll be all set, it'll be like stock gearing w/ stock tires

burgard only makes rear beadlocks in 8 or 9"

ive only had a quad for about 4 months now and i do trail riding and startin to run on some tracks so i dont know much about this stuff yet. So my best option right now would be get some burgard beadlocks in the 9" and some ITP holeshot XCR 20x11x9 on the back?

If you dont plan on raceing id go with the blackwaters. I bought a 300ex a few years back that had some on it and they pull great on regurlar trails, outstanding in the mud, and do quite well in the sand too. They are made in a 20". I have never run holeshots but i hear they are a great tire also. I spent a lot of time in the mud thats probley why I liked the blackwaters so much.

muff

blackwaters may be tough and good for mud but they have an extra 50lbs that you dont wanna be spinning around

stick with the holeshots

a few years ago when i first got a 300ex I thought that holeshots would suck because theres like no tread on them, so i got blackwaters...i thought that mud tires were the way to go until i got a 400ex with holeshots and i'm not goin back since

i dont like the holeshots all that much, there good tires, but ive always foind the Razrs to be better for where i ride, which is a mix of everything. And ive never had a problem with them. Plus there cheaper too. And the wear is awesome, i have about 15 rides on my razrs and theres about 95% tred left

10-19-2003, 12:50 PM
rockymountain has very good prices untill you call them for shipping....they get you there, they charged me $50 to ship 4 tires  im getting my next set from the local dealership...since denniskirk has free shipping they just charge an outrageous price out front :eek2:

my razrs lasted 1 years and they still have 40% tread on them.:eek2: they were the best tire ive ever had. the holeshots i had kept getting holes put in them. the razrs got 1 hole in 1 year. i currently have the kenda knarly rear/kenda klaw front and i really like it. these tires just cant be beat for the price. ill be goin back to razrs next time tho.

man, now you guys got me changin my mind...I dont know what i want now either the holeshots or some of the razrs

erichsen18
10-19-2003, 06:53 PM
well after some thought i think im goin to go with the Razrs just for the simple fact the Holeshot XCR are $70 a piece and the razrs i found for about 50 a piece and if i destroy a tire id rather spend 50 than 70. So think im gettin razrs ive only heard good things about them. but my question now is should i get the original ones or the razr 2s?

10-19-2003, 07:48 PM
razr 2's if you have problems getting flats & have some extra money to spend. where did you find the razr's for $50 a pice? if you say rockymountain they are going to charge you a whole lot for shipping :( i really want some razr's & $50 is a real good deal..oh, my friend has some XC holeshots & they suck, wont even stay on the bead :p

erichsen18
10-19-2003, 08:04 PM
im pretty sure it was rocky mountain...i guess ill look elsewhere. I HATE SHIPPING CHARGES

muff
10-20-2003, 01:04 PM
lol you guys are complaining because the tires not seating the bead, you have to make it seat the bead :huh

they may charge a lot for shipping but you are still getting a deal
