What kind of gas mileage should a 300ex get with pipe, jet, filter, 130 main jet, 48 pilot jet? I took about a 1 hour ride yesterday and ran about 3/4 throttle the whole way and was on reserve by the time i got there. I want better gas mileage what should i do? Thanks!

The best way to get good mileage is to keep your engine stock. I know that's not what you want to hear but you'll get the best mileage. Other than that, try to ride in the highest gear you can at about 1/2 throttle.

Yea, i usually try and ride slow when taking long rides but, would down jetting help, like maybe by making the 48 pilot a 40 pilot, would that help some? Thanks

first of all i dont understand how u can even get it to start with a 48 pilot. U need to jet it correctly first.

Well the 48 was the only thing we had, but we have a 40 now so i may put that in, but it runs good with the 48.

Stock is most economical, also gearing will help a lot. (so when all you do is drive at high speeds you should gear it so that you don't have to ride flat out constantly)
Also try to keep your throttle position as constant as possible.

A stock 300 has a great milage, my neighbour has one and he barely ever has to refuel :P

I had a 140km about flat-out drive with my 400EX and there was still gas left when we stopped to refuel. (I used 9liters, Banshee used full tank (had to tow it to the station) and the Rappy was also running reserve for a while)
The 300 is much more economical than the 400 so you should be able to get pretty far, if jetted right.
