I was wondering if anyone knew the largest rear tires I could put on the 400EX? I take it up hunting 2 to 3 weeks a year and can really use the extra ground clearence. Thanks in advance.

44" Super Swampers. May require some fender triming though.

jk

i think about the biggest sport quad tire your gonna find is a 23" tire. But you could also put utility quad tires on, they go up to 26-27-28 inches high. but i'm not sure if they will fit on a 400.

You can listen to anyone's opinion you want to, but I would not suggest anything larger than a 22x12.5x9..... unless you put a heavy duty clutch in and change your front sprocket to a 14 tooth.

I bought my bike brand new and decided to try larger tires.... the clutch went out in less than 20 hours of riding. When you take alot of power, then add killer traction...something has to give...and the clutch then becomes the weakest link. I think the tires were meant to spin some under power. When you put big tires on...you cannot spin them as easily. Kind of like putting great big tires on a 4 wheel drive with a 4 cylinder engine.

I could be wrong, and maybe my clutch was defective...but it sounds good anyway :-)

I've got 22x11x9 on the rear and 23x7x10 on the front and venture to say i wouldn't go any bigger than that...300ex though you may think different on a 400

22x12x9 superswampers work the best
