just need some opinions on what cam for mx

Honda part in a honda motor. What else could you ask for. I say get the HRC, probably the most aggressive drop in cam there is..

I would use a hot cam stageII. It is made just like a honda cam and cost less:)

Both the HRC and the Hotcam stage 2 will be good. But really what is the difference between the two.

i like my stage 2. i have rode bikes with stage 1 also. with the stage 2, the bike needs to rev higher. you need to keep the rpm's higher when coming out of corners etc. i have never used any other cams. the stage 2 will be a little more aggressive in the upper gears, but you need to keep the rpm's up.

Where exactly will the HRC improve the power curve? Will it be throughout the powerband, mid, lowrange?

The HRC cam sports almost the same specs as the 450/451 cam I had in my bike when you rode it. That's also the Web track cam, old GT Thunder grind and very close to what the HC stage II is.
By the way, I fixed it and it now runs MUCH better, I'll bring it back down for you to try soon.

I would have to say you are leaning in the right direction. I have no complaints with mine. It has nice power gains in mid to top end with out loosing much if any down low. Can't give an opinion on the Hot cams other than it is not honda quality. ;)
