I just got a used 2000 400ex , which is stock except some cos. parts
And it doesnt like to start very much
We ran the battery dry trying to start it, we re charged it, we found the best way was to pump the gas about 5 times then try, it worked after a few trys, and once its warmed up it purrs like a kitty.
Now, who else has this problem ? how to fix it etc.

ps: which forum would i post pictures of my new ride? :)

Clean the carb and change the gas. Carb may be adjusted wrong too. How's the air filter look?

I see you're from Canada...temps chilly up there??
Some 400s just don't like to start right up in cool/colder temps.
Might wanna consider bumping your pilot jet up to a 40 or 42(if you haven't already), might help with your start troubles.
I know mine just hated to start when the temps drop..a 40 pilot helped w/ that..
Just a thought for ya..

Good luck..

suks when they dont want to start. Like they said above, try the 40 or 42 pilot, clean the carb, put in new fuel, and id change the plug also. This should get ya running
