Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. You guys have a great site here and I have already gained alot of usefull info from it.:D

I just became the proud owner of an 01' 400EX. Only appears to have a few hours on it. 3/4 plus tread left, and only minimal marks on plastic and frame. It's all stock and super clean. Got it for $3600 which I guess wasn't to bad. I'm happy, so that's what counts. This is my first quad, although I have a couple of Honda CBR600's. I remember being 11-12 back in 86' or so when the 250R was the hot new thing. I drooled over the pages of Dirt Wheels and dreamed of my very own quad. Man did I want a Honda ATV!:( Mom and Pop couldn't afford one so that dream was on hold. 16 years later I 'm climbing on my bright yellow Honda and I feel like a kid again! Haven't had it out yet (other than the yard) so I am just dying to let it loose.:eek2:

Thanks for the warm welcome! Obviously a friendly bunch here.:D If sitting on your quad and making engine noises when you can't ride it means your addicted, I guess I'm done for. Sunday wil be it/my maden voyage and it is almost killing me to wait that long! First trip will be to a relatives 1400 acre farm to play with a couple Blasters, a Warrior and a Polaris.

I am already eying up all of the "goodies" that are available for this puppy, so I am sure I wil have lots of questions on modifications. I'll leave it alone for right now, but I doubt that will last very long. I tend to have a bad habit of not leaving things alone.:rolleyes: I will try to get some pics before I cover it in mud!:huh

Well, here is my first mod already. Not very exciting to most of you I'm sure.:rolleyes: Found this Pro Armor skid at a local ATV shop for 70 bucks and couldn't pass it up. That little piece of plastic under there just didn't give me much piece of mind in keeping rocks off my crank case!

nice 400! Theres a guy around here in TX that specializes in 400exs... if you ever want any motor work or u have any questions.... hes a great to get in touch with... check out www.rageatv.com its also a webpage for our local quad racing organization but also for his race shop

Well, I had her out for her first romp Sunday. What a freakin' blast. I really need more time on this thing though, since it is by no means a starter quad. I've only spent a couple hours on a Warrior and a Blaster and boy is this thing different from those machines. Any advice on getting the front end to hook up more would be appreciated at this point! This thing really feels like it has a lot of bite in the back, but with the front feeling so lite it tends to push more than I think it should. Probably just the operator, but any setup tips anyone has I'll give a try.

Here is a pic from the end of the day. I tried to get a little dirt on it for you guys that said it was too clean!;)
