300ex oil problem

hey guys,

I have just acquired a 300ex, and am having some trouble keeping oil in it. it used to have a crack in the case, but it has been welded and no longer leaks. I am still losing oil, it looks like it is blowing out of the crankcase vent into the airbox snorkel/frame member, and is running into the airbox. this is just one big mess. what could be causing this? need new rings? I dont know where to start, but havent really spent much time with it yet either.

Is it leaking? like drip drip on the ground. OR are you checking your oil and it's not there anymore? I'm a little confused about the oil on the airbox part.
