Do these require an aftermarket steering stem?

you should not have to get a new stem if you are looking for 1 1/8 bars you can get universal mounts for them. not sure if I am on the right track here since the picture did not show.

They were some kind of trail tech bar clamps... I was just confused because some clamps say the you don't need a aftermarket steering stem. What clamps would you recommend or are they all pretty much the same?

I have the big bar logo trail tech clamp on my bike. This clamp raised my bars 1" to 1 1/2" if you do not need your bars raised then you can get some moose universal clamps for $36
