400ex and ltz400 shocks?

i thought that the 400ex and ltz had the same suspension but i was at the dealer the other day and pushed down on the fronts of theese two quads. The 400ex came up like a pogo stick with no rebound where as the z400 came up slower. So my ? is what exactly is the differences in thees two quads suspesions?

They are sprung and damped differently, and the top shock mounts on the Z are wider than the EX's.
