After many tries i still cant get this thing dialed in.Im down to a 158 main 48 pilot and the needle in the 3rd from top spot. And im still real rich and fouling the plug. The motor is stock,Just a K&N and a W/B slip on.and a open air box.Im about to have a 39 fcr for sale if i cant get this figured out soon.HELP!

Have you tried calling C&D. It seems Colby knows these pretty well and have helped a few people here.

Take the spark arrestor out of the pipe, or run about 18 disks with an open airbox. That's what I did when I ran the FCR and WB pipe. I ran a 165 main, needle clip in the middle and about 2.5- 3 turns out on the screw.

It depends what needle is in it too. After i got the sparks needle and the fuel screw from c&c i got back to getting some holeshots.

I'm with KFulk on the needle. Depending on where you bought it from, it may have the wrong needle in it. I bought mine from someone who had it on a 440, and had some off the wall needle in it. It ran great, but I kept fouling plugs. Finally talked to Colby at C&D, and he suggested the EMP needle. It hasn't fouled a plug since. Aside from the 416 kit, I have pretty much the same mods as you, and I'm running a 170 main, and 52 pilot.

I agree try the emp needle in the middle clip. fuel screw 2 to 2.5 turns out and the adjustable air jet needs to be 2 turns out.:)

do you stil have my credit card info, Colby? If you do go ahead and send me one.And i cant find any air jet on there. You said it was in the back but i dont see it?Ill try to take a pick of it tonight and maybe you can point it out to me.Im putting the stock carb back on tonight cause im going on a ride this weekend and i dont want to be fooling with this carb all weekend.

You have to take the rear bell off of the carb to get to the air jet. There are two jets under there the one on the left as you look at the back of the carb is adjustable turn it in all the way and then back it out 2 turns:) . I will send you out a needle tommorow:D

Have you got to run your quad enough to know what type of gains you got with the FCR. I know you have it on a stock motor, so I was curious to see what you thought of that compared to what you had before. You had a 416 before, right.

Hope you get it going.

No i havent yet.I cant get it tuned in.But i think it would be just a little less than the 416 was if i do get it right.Even running bad as it was id still pull up pretty quick on my friend when i wanted to.

That I think is going to be my next mod. But I will probably just get that and my 416 kit pretty much over the winter.

I hate doing everything in the winter all at once cause you really can't tell the benifit of each part individually. But oh well.

check the acc pump too. Some guy have them set up on the richer setting, also you can shim the diaphram w/ a washer, or use the Factory R&D pump cover.
