what exactly happens when you shave your flywheel on a 400ex? What kind of power gains will you see?

i beleive it gives it faster acceleration...but also makes it easier to stall

When you shave your flywheel, you reduce its mass, which is less mass that the engine wastes power turning.

It will make the powerband hit later and harder. Not sure about actual numbers, maybe 1-2 more on the peak, and a 1-3 loss in the lower RPMs.
