I'am putting my 440 together and I'am affriad of it getting hot in the Glamis sand. I was wondering what scoops look best and which oil tank is best? Any info on what else to try and keep it running cool?

I have the xfactor scoops on my bike and a um oiltank. I haven't had any problems with either of them another suggestion for temp is to run a colder plug dpr9z. I am debating now if I want to go with the oilcooler or not.

Hey silverfox.
Why don't you and colby do some research on one of those larger oil coolers that bolt right up in place of the stock cooler. There was a thread on here a week or so back on one that is from an airplane or something. Comes with lines also. The 350.00 price tag is a bit to much. If you can find one that will cool better without drilling into the side case and what not i would be interested ir the price is reasonable. Silver fox here is the link maybe a group buy ? Who knows

Do you have a website for the cfm oil tank? Also this is off the wall but do you think I will need a new head cover gasket? I didnt know if you could reuse them?

At one time, I called that guy at desert toys or whatever...I ask him to justify the expense of the oil cooler at $300.00 plus dollars in quality and effectiveness.

He gave me the traditional arrogance of someone with no technical answers who is trying to back you down and rip you off. to hide his own ignorance or scam.

In addition, viruses started to appear on my computer from his Arizona address. I personally would not consider this company or the products. No matter how good it is.

Very interesting Mike.
Unless this guy is making this cooler himself I would think there has to be one out there that is the same or close to it that will bolt right up for half that price. Time to send the blood hounds out for a good sniff. :D Where is Disho1 when we need him.

(The one who discovered the CRF timing chain is the same as the heavy duty at half the price)

I dont know how well this cooler will work but I found another option.

Here is an email I recieved from this company :

the kit comes with all the necessary hardware, hoses, clamps, oil cooler and mounts. Takes about an hour to install and there is no drilling required.
$129.95 plus shipping--need zip code to give estimate on the shipping. --We did have a better pix but in the middle of a computer upgrade it got lost, so I am not sure if I can locate or not--
