well......if its an open area and you plan on having a wide track or wide jumps, just use the dozer

My friends dad rented a bull dozer the summer before last. $1000 for 40 hours of use. Used all 40 hours for a 1.3 mile track and a small clearing on about 7-8 acres. There were alot of large rocks, some the size of small cars, that had to be pulled out. Wouldn't have been able to do that with a Bobcat.

It would depend on your terraine and the size of track your working on.

dozer, no question about it. we messed around with bobcats a couple times and found that it takes most of the weekend to make a couple decent jumps. we then rented a dozer and found someone who knows how to operate it and had a complete track done in less time. you just can't push any dirt with a bobcat so you are forced to move it a bucket at a time.

Very true,

I have a Backhoe (John Deer 416) and I can make jumps and stuff, but a dozer is the trick.

Even better if you have one that has a six-way blade on it. Those are the ones that can be angled in almost any position.
