I was just wandering if anybody ever put there quad on a paved 1/4 mile to see what time it could do? just wandering how fast my 500 would do it? and what kind of cars you could beat?

1/8 mile times are usually fast on quads but with out some major gearing changes thats about where you max out so the 1/4 mile times arent that great.

Go do a seach for CHad505ex I believe. There were some good threads race times and such, 1/8.

I seen a banshee or 2 at the drag strip in WV run 4.7 on a 300 ft dirt drag....:eek2:

Search for drag racing or my name, i have posted lots of pics and vids of quads doing official 1/8th mile drags. You can see me get my arse handed to me by raptors and banshees. lol The fastest banshee i have seen ran either a 6.3 or a 6.7 at 90+mph, the announcer said that would be around a 10.5 1/4mile time if the quads were allowed to run the full quarter mile.

Also my 85 Z28 runs a 9.5* (can't remember exactly and don't have the slip since i'm at college but its 9.** something) in the 1/8th at 72mph while my quad runs 9.7* at 66mph. Just to compare my camaro ends up running a 15.261 at 89.3mph, thats good for a bone stock 305.

My 440 has run 73mph at 8.8 seconds. There's 2 banshees here that have broke 100 mph. Those are 1/8 times.

man thats nothin, the locals here run 4.30's-4.50's every night at the dragstrip in my signature......the track record is 3.50.....the m.p.h record is 104......and its one of the fastest and hardest hooking dirt tracks in the country if your wonderin

3.5 seconds at 104 mph in 100 yards? Thats on par with th NHRA cars. I doubt it.

my buddys banshee basically stock with pipes ran a 15 or 16 in the 1/4Mi.

umm, those are seperate, the track m.p.h. record is 104

and the tracks fastest time ever is a 3.5

ill try to get some links to the pics of those two record holders, might take alittle bit

actually 3.5 in 100 yards is possible, a guy at the missouri track i raced at had a 1180 triple cylinder polaris auto that ran 3.7 at like 100 or something... very possible... most of the super por banshees run from 3.9 to 4.4....

actually its 3.43 seconds

mph record is 94

I never did get to run you before you toasted your motor, but your trans am killed my camaro. You almost hit 90 in the 1/8th mile, when i only hit a wopping 89mph in the 1/4. I thought i was gonna chase you down when you let off and ran a 14.0 at 74mph :eek2:

I run asphalt at Rockingham Dragway here in NC. My best was 2 weeks ago with 8.24 at 78 mph in the 1/8 mile and 13.65 at 83.77 mph in 1/4 mile. No nitrous..:)

Just found my timeslip from last year.

1/8 9.663 at 67.43
1/4 15.757 at 76.13

I have since got more porting done, bigger valves, and dumped the edelbrock carb for an fcr. And i got rid of my dmc pipe for a sparks.
And i'll have my stroker motor done soon.

THE FASTEST BANSHEE AT THE TRACK I RACE AT WHICH IS R&R DRAGWAY IN GENOA, WV IS A 14MM 610 STROKER CHEETAH ENGINE AND IT RUN 3.42 IN 300FT SO DONT SAY ITS NOT POSSIBLE CAUSE IT IS AND MINE WITH JUST A PORT JOB AND CPI DRAG PIPES RUNS 4.17 AND THAT ISNT VERY MUCH ENGINE WORK HUH SO IT IS EXTREMELY POSSIBLE.
