Drag Racing Christmas Tree

Has anyone built their own christmas tree? A buddy of mine has been looking to buy one and they are pretty pricy. I know a lot of them have the software and sensors to give you staging lights, your start lights, red light for jumping the gun and a finish sensor to tell who one and eta and such. If anyone has done this or know a home brew setup, it would sure help. I don't mind a few trips to Radio Shack and have plenty of access to people to help with the wiring and all, just need some plans and programming.

They are very pricey, we would love to have one just to practice at home before we hit the track. please keep me informed if you hear anything.

You should be able to find a diagram on the intternet somewhere on how to build one . Just do a search and you should get a bunch of results. I remember looking for it once and was able to find one . We built one for our racing club around here . If you buy one , get ready to spend upwards of $1000

Check the internet . our local drag racing club built one using the net . but it's still gunna cost you alot to build . If you just want something to practice your reaction times , I wouldnt worry about the staging sensors , but if you want a full out tree put them in , I guaratee if it turns out good you can sell it for a few thoughsand dollars

I already did that! Beat it by 1/2 a bike length. I think it would have one if the cord hadn't been too short...
