i was reading on the sparks web site that they do not recommend the advanced ignition key if you have a high compression piston, but they do not say why they do not recommend it. i have a standard bore 11.1 wiseco. anyone run a set up like this with the sparks key?

some people do run it with higher compression pistons. however, they don't recommend it because it makes the bike run hotter. these aren't liquid cooled so these will probally be less of a harm to the bike when using a larger oil tank and cooler. your 11 compression wiseco piston is not a true 11 compression. that piston is made for the xr400 dirtbike and the deck heights are different. you will probally be ok given that you have a stock bore and a wiseco piston. however, i do think a bigger oil cooler would benefit.

Who sells these for less than Sparks? They have them listed for $19.95. I have sen them for less in the past, just wondering what the current price is.

c&d sells them for 15.00 i believe that's where i got mine i'm running mine with 11:1 compression and have ran it for a full season i first started to run it on 92 but it was running hot so now i run 70%race fuel and 30%92 and she runs fine

We sell the sparks key for $15. They don't recommend it for higher compression because of the extra heat. I run one on alot of built motors but I always run a larger oil tank and scoops.
