I am considering getting a timing key, but I am not sure of the benefit. My only mods are K&N with outerwears & no lid, 155 main, 42 pilot, and needle clip 1 notch to the ritch end. I noticed that I have a slight bog when coming out of the hole in 2nd. Will the timing key help?

The timing key will give you a more crisp throttle response and will give more bottom but it could be a jetting problem if you are bogging off of bottom.. try to adjust the fuel screw.

Where is the fuel screw on the stock carb? Forgive my stupidity, but I have been a die-hard 250r owner until my 400ex

Thanks, do I need to take the bowl cover off the bottom of the carb? If so, can you get to it without taking the carb off?

The bowl does not need to come. look at the bottom of the carb and look for a tiny slot for a straigh screw driver.

i would go down on the main to a 150 in the summer and a 152 in winter. also, i would look into getting little shim that goes by the clip on the needle. what this will do is enable you to adjust the clip on the needle between the 3rd and 4th position. i almost bet your rich on the needle. i am in the 4th position and i am a little rich. i am also running a 406, stage 2 cam, full exhuast, filter, and modded airbox lid. good luck

are you running k&n jets ? if so try a 168 main , 3rd notch down on the needle
