I use mobil 1 15-50 now and was think of changing to castrol syntec 10-40.

Does anyone else change there oil for the winter? Or just keep useing mobil 1?

Yeah its better to run a thicker oil for winter because your engine runs hotter and leaner.

You run THINNER oil in the winter. The cold makes the oil thicker. If the cold is making your machine lean then you better richen your jetting before you seize it. I doubt that it gets cold enough in Louisiana to worry about it though.

i run HP4 20w-50 in summer & spring, and HP4 10w-40 in winter & fall. ;)

I use Mobil1 15-50 year round. Synthetics don't gum up in the cold near as bad:D
