I know this is a quad site, but we seem to have a few IT guys here and I think someone on here said they were running a remote desktop. Anyways, I have 2 boxes, both running Windows XP Pro, and I have them on a LAN with a Linksys BEFSR41 router. That is the only connection between the 2, each comp goes from the NIC to the router - I don't have a serial cable connecting the two. One of the comps is my server PC (web, FTP, mail), so what I want to do is be able to access that desktop from my PC. I tried following the wizard, but it doesnt seem to work since the PCs are directly connected (ie a CAT5 from NIC to NIC). Any ideas on what to do?

Go to add/remove programs, add/remove windows components, then make sure you enable IIS, this allows remote connection. The try the remotew connection wizard.

I did that, but I still can't get it to connect. The comps are under the same workgroup also.
