I just bought a IMS 440 kit, the piston is a je 11 to 1. Are the gaskets that come with this kit good. Our is there a better gasket? Cause I do not want to have to keep tearing it apart replacing head gaskets!

i have no clue what ones came with the kit so i can't tell you if they are good or not. i am having good luck with my cosmetic gaskets with my 11 compression bike. from what i hear, just make sure you don't use a paper headgasket. the cosmetic flex steel gaskets are suppose to be good from what i hear.

What compression were you running? Also how did it last before it blew the gaskets , did you follow the honda torque pattern and retorque after break in?

the compression is 11:1. Its a tc built 425, but i just bought it, so i dont know if the guy before me followed the torque pattern. C&D racing swears by the flex steel gaskets, and they know their stuff

i have used Cometic flex steel twice and blew um both with a 440 kit and 10.5 to 1 compression. I contacted sparks and they have a fix for it. longer studs and there gasket. they told me the build 12.5 to 1 440s and have not had a blown head gasket yet. and 15 to 1 runin on alky and havent had trouble.. hopefully it will be my fix.
