Ok I am thinking of getting a new steering stem and am needing some advise. I am 6'2" and I feel like I am bending in half when I ride. So what size of steering stem would you guys recommend? I was thinking +1 1/2 or a +2.

+2 should be about perfect for ya depending on what bars you normally run

Just a thought... I am thinking that you position yourself on the atv where you feel comfortable, put your hands in the position you want them to be in, and either have someone measure the distance, or give yourself an estimate of the increase you wish to make.

Note: Going from stock length to +2" will be a very noticeable difference. If you want a slight increase or improvement, obviously, the shorter the distance, the less of a difference.

Are you going to use the same handlebars?

If you are considering going with different handlebars, get that before you get an aftermarket steering stem... Some aftermarket steering stems are designed for certain handlebars.:) (Example, Roll Design makes a steering stem for "fat" bars like the Tag 2 bars. This may eliminate the need for an expensive adapter).

Good luck!:)

Question: Does going with a longer steering stem alter your jumping technique??

I'd say a +1 would be perfect. Any taller and the smallest roll over that sucka is gonna bend..:(

I got the Arens which is just a bit taller then stock and I like it much better. I'm 6 foot too.

+1 +1
The stem is 1" taller than stock and it sets 1" more foward than stock. This helps with clearance for an oversize tank and/or rider comfort.

Hey Nate, Craig Has a +1 anti vibe stem at his house he wants to sell. He wants a +2. Any way, He would take yours in on trade and it was just powder coated.

I just talked to craig and he said he would let you have it for 75$ and yor stock one. But you will have to get your own top. A anti vibe top is around 70$. It is powder coated Near chrome color. Let me know.
