I just bought a ims 440 kit with a 11 to 1 Je piston for $199 is that cheap? Also I have a 39 fcr. What drop incam would you recommend for mx and glamis (sand dunes). Alot of people tell me the hrc cam is the best , were can I get one the cheapest? Is the hotcam stage 2 that close to a hrc? Thanks for all the help guys !

$199 is cheap, but is it installed?? The 39fcr works well with the 440 in the sand, thats what I have and my 440 is only riddin in the sand. I would think an mx cam would work good, I run a more mid to top cam then that though and like it a lot, it just stalls easier at low speeds though. I don't know much about the hotcam, or hrc cam.

Thanks for the info. Nah I guess they want 100 to install the sleeve. Thats with me bringing them in the jug. Does your 440 get hot? What comp do you run?

$299 installed for a 440 is cheap. It cost me almost 500 for my 295 kit in my R. I think I am 11:1. Mine don't run hot at all, I do have an oversize oil tank though.

Yeah - that's a great deal!!! Make sure they do a good job!! I bought my kit for about $240 and paid a about $120 to get the sleeve pressed in. I ran a WB MX (track) cam in my 440 - and it never stalled in the dunes. I had a stock carb though....and stock cooler. It will definately run hotter with a stock cooler - I had to make sure I ran race gas at all times and changed my oil frequently to try to baby my engine and keep it lasting as long as possible. If you are gonna do a lot of duning, I would say it would be WELL worth your while to get a larger cooler! I also got a WB CDI box to raise my RPMS a bit, since the higher compression leaves your bike liking to rev more. I was hitting my rev limiter a lot on the track, and this definately helped me.

Thanks for the info, I already have a cdi so that should help. I'm hoping that the fcr will make it run better also. What cooler would you recommend? I have a steer dampner so i cant mount it in the from like i have seen them. I was thinking of getting this cooler but it way pricey. http://www.deserttoyzatvracing.com/pages/786129/index.htm

I'm realy worried about it getting hot and the rod failing. What cam do you think hrc our hotcams stage 2?

I have an HRC, and this thing is amazing...awesome midrange power. I got mine for $150 but that was on e-bay..I think they go for almost 300 retail. Good luck on your decision.

I was just going to buy an automotive oil cooler from Jeg's and have lines custome made - the coolers I was looking at were like....$45.00 and then the lines would be more, but still beats $300 or so! :) I bought the FST cooler, but then realized you had to drill holes in your case, and I didn't want to do that - so I sold it. That's when I started looking at some smaller automotive coolers.........
