the nut will go onto the bolt fine...... i dont see how taping the threads would make a difference..... once i get the nut about half way up and it actually gets harder to tighten is when the bolt starts to spin right with the nut.

look at your bolt and see it it get smaller and then goes biger again that could be making it hard. in that case u would need to tap the bolt because thats what i had to do

Try putting a c-clamp on the balljoint and spindle and press them together as your turning the nut. They are pressfit in there. My 300ex was just like that.

Are you saying that the ball joint is spinning in the spindle when you try to tighten the nut on it? The ball joints are tapered and held in the spinde by "pressed fit." If your ball joint is spinning, that means that it is not pressed far enough into the spindle. To press it farther into the spindle, just use a c-clamp. Place one side of the c-clamp on the top of the ball joint and the other side on the bottom of the spindle. Hope that answers your question :) .

I had the same problem. I just took my shock off and let the spindle hang (with my frame on a jack-stand). While it was hanging I put a lil pressure on it so it would keep the ball-joint from spinning inside itself. Then I just tightened it down good and stuck a pin through it
