Hard to idle

I have an 01 416ex and it won't hardly idle when the bike is cold. Any suggestions?

it's the cam, did you try cranking your idle screw up some and also remember the 400 is a very cold running bike and won't idle until she's warmed up some unless you do some tweaking with the carb some

I have tried to adjust the screw, but the one I turn won't change the idle at all. I think I'm turning the right one. By the way, who bored your stock carb?

what size pilot are you running should be a 42 there are two adjust screws on your carb the one you can't get to is the air screw and you can't even see it unless you take your carb off so you should be turning the right one specially if it's the one on the side of the carb and it should make a definant change in your idle as you adjust it
