i have a 300ex with a 11-1 piston, 254 web cam, fmf power core full exhaust, k&n filter with vented lid, and i cant get it jetted right. it wont lug in a gear or climb a hill unless im wide open. even wide open sometimes at the top it doggs out. also on top end it cuts out. ive tried to put a few different jets in it but cant get it right. if anybody has a starting point for me i would appreciate it. it has a 38 pilot, and a 140 or 142 main right now. i have a 36mm lectron too, but i cant get anywhere with it. it came off of a 350x and has a #9 needel in it. i think the needel may be too big. so i would like to get the stock carb set up for this weekend.

If you had the stock carb I would say your jetting is to big. My friend put a pipe and filter on his 300 and had to go smaller then stock on the jetting.

But with your carb I don't know it still sounds big for a 300

If you read my stats we have basically the same setup except exhaust, and mines a 250. I am having problems too. The cutting out at top end i would guess is you hitting the rev limiter, Mine does the same thing. I think you might be a little rich, What does you plug look like after you ride for a while and is there any black smoke when the bike is running

Try 125 to 130 for starters.

i think its too rich also, i put a 138 in it and its running a little better. the plug looks alright, one side is always darker than the other. one side is a nice tan and the other is black. i cant figure it out, my friend has his rev limiter removed ill try putting his box on mine for the top end.
