I have 400ex and I'm a bigger guy at 220lbs. I have a track behind the house with small jumps, etc. I'm pretty sure I'm bottoming out the rear shock. I have just adjusted the compression to hard and cranked down on the preload to the botton of the threads on the shock. I think this made it not bottom out as much.

My question is does anyone sell a stiffer replacement spring for the rear shock? Or is this this a complete unit that cant be disassembled?

This machine is a mess around thing so I dont want to have to buy an expensive shock.

Thanks for any advise.

Yes you can just change the spring. We sell many different springs that will help out your rear shock:)

Hi, I am a bigger guy to at 210 ibs. I race XC and my stock rear shock was really worn. I sent my stock shock off to elka and had them re-do it. They made the shock zero preload and used new springs as well as using a larger shaft. It is great and is semi cheap around $400.00(compared to buying a new back shock) Well I hope this helps!
