OK, here is the moment some of you have been waiting for. I have located a company that will make flags for the site, with no minimum purchase. There are two different flags to choose from. The first one is a regular orange triangle. The other is flame-shaped, and posted below. Both flags will have EXriders.com printed on them. Price per flag is $15, and I will accept payments via PayPal. The deadline is October 31st. The actual cost once set-up fees are added in, along with other fees, will probably put the flag in the $12-13 range, depending on how many are ordered. Any extra money will be forwarded to Harlen to use toward the site. PayPal account is RytM1@aol.com

That was just a quick sample to give you an idea of what I have in mind (sorry for not posting a disclaimer). The text is not definite, and if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to suggest. This topic has been discussed before. The more colors you get, the more its going to cost. I was trying to keep it simple so that it's easier to read when you are flying by someone, and also thinking about people's wallets.

Uh, I think a new design would work better.

What kind of flags are these? Whip/safety flags for the dunes, or like ones you hang on your wall?

This is going to be a flag to attach to the top of any pole..dune, trail, etc. There are holes in the pole edge of it, that you can run zipties through. The company assured me that they will not come off of the pole if you crank down the ties.

Can you let me know when the designs are definite? I would like to buy one too!

Well, whoever has ideas has to get them posted within the next week or two.

not to piss anyone off but i dont think youd sell any of them with that design , you need something cooler or more detail and stuff, white might not be the best color for dunes, even if it cost a lil more i think youd have a better chance than with the curent one

i would maybe be interested in one if it was a better design. you could have this support the site like the t-shirts and people could become an exriders patron if they bought one.

Ain't no white flags allowed in my dunes. BTW - Where do you see a white flag? It looks reel red to me and I'm colorblind :huh

have you seen the exriders stickers that str8wicked had made up one time? that would go good on the flame shaped flag. contact him and ask if you can use his word design...

$12 - $13 is a bit high for just the flag I can buy one just like it with the pole and nuts and bolts for $12. I would buy a bunch for like $4 or $5. The $12 - $13 is for just the flag right? Very good idea though

Stiffy, if you can find a place to get flags for $4-5, with no minimum purchase, and the logo printed on them, let me know. I'll be glad to try and organize the buy through them.

For those of you wondering about the price, here is the breakdown of how I came about that price. As long as I get 20 flags ordered, the price can range anywhere from $7.20-$6.70. There is a one-time, $35 set up fee (which will be divided among everyone who participates). $3.85 to ship USPS. 2.9% + .30 for each PayPal credit card transaction I receive (no fee for checking account payments). So hypothetically, if 20 flags are ordered, each one will cost $13.47 if paid for by credit card, $12.80 if paid for by checking account. That leaves anywhere from $1.53 to 2.20 per flag going to the site, which I'm sure wouldn't make much of a dent in Harlen's costs to keep the site running, but hey, everylittle bit helps. I know that all of you can go out and probably buy a flag and pole for that price, and I have never debated that. The idea of flags was brought up about a year ago, and people were willing to pay $15 for a flag. I know times may be tough for some, but at the same time, I'm not looking to make money off of these either. I am donating a portion of the little free time I have to organize this.

L. Vegas, I'll talk to Str8wicked about that design.

Jack,

I really like wicked's design. That I think would be cool on a flag. I'll buy one, just so I can be different.

Just PM me when you need the money.

If someone has, or knows where Str8's design is posted, grab it and post it here. I sent him a PM two weeks ago, and he hasn't read it yet.

As for the rest of you, start posting some ideas on here so we can get this thing going. A lot of people claiming the one I posted for reference was not good enough, but not showing any examples of what they would like to see. I've got no problem extending the deadline if we get people that want them, once a design is agreed upon.

One Bad, that is cool, and wouldn't be bad to hang as a second flag on a pole. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that as a primary flag, places that do require them, require them to be orange.

you are correct about the color the Flag must be orange :D

the checkered design is pretty cool but you can't really read the print

That design works too. I'm gonna see if I can photoshop it over a flag and post it here. I noticed that Str8 had signed on, but he still hasn't checked his PM's.
