not that I don't like the ride but they seem to compress alot when turning. anyone else run into this issue?

How many clicks do you have the compression set at? You should be able to turn the nob and get them harder.

they are not adjustable, only the $525 ones. the SSD or first spring and preload are set from factory

are they valved for your weight?

are they used/old?

If there new, send them back and tell them they are too soft.

They are brand new i rode them maybe 5 hours. I was worried at first about how far they lowered the quad, but Elka said it was normal. they said they were set up for my weight and trail riding(which is what I mainly do). They just seem very soft compared to stock ones. maybe it is me?

you want them to sag, the lower you are the less likly you are to tip in a sharp turn.

It might just be you. They should make you more confident. If you do a search on pep or elka and see what people say. The harder you push them the better they work. Oddly that is true. I actually get nervous how fast I am starting to ride, but my suspension just soaks it up.

Just as long as you aren't nose diving in corners you should be okay, you should be able to power through them.

if you can, take a pic so I can see which way your crossovers are facing. Post here or email it to me cdalejef@bellsouth.net

What the hell are crossovers. the quad is about 20mins away in a shed

If your front end is diving when going into corners it is probably because you do not have a zps or ssd rear shock, causing the front of the quad to be lower than the rear therefore shifting the weight bias more towards the front making it dive. I looked through you signature and didn't see anything mentioned about your rear shock being converted to ssd by elka or a whole new shock. That is probably what is wrong.

Damn you are right! all the quads I rode before I bought my shocks had a matching rear. I should just lessen the rear shock pre load and try that.
