I just bought a 2002 Blaster and i love it. But i went out sunday with my friend in the rain:macho and it just took right to the trails and kept up with his 400EX. But my problem is that some times out of the blue it will bogg right down so i shift down to get the R's up and it will just stall. Sounds like it floods out but what i dont get is that after it stalls, when i pull in the clutch and shift into a gear and try pushing it, it will act like i dont have the clutch pulled in. So i wait about 5-10 min letting it sit then try it again and she will fire right up and i can start riding again. Any suggestions on what the problem is? Also i was told and had read a bunch of reviews about it. Stock blaster does about 55mph. And if i were to put a 14 front tooth sprocket on, and pipe/silencer it will do about 70-75mph. Think this is true? I also took the air box cover off. Think i should keep it off or leave it on or put holes in it. If i put holes in it, how big and do i use a regular drill bit? But my main problem is the stalling. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!

I'm not really sure about the stalling problem, I'd have to be there or have it described a little better. As for the lid, if you ride in dry conditions, take it off, decent performance gain. For holes, I use a 1 inch wood bit.

I have a 88 blaster and it does the same thing i think either the sparkplug is gettin wet or there is water gettin 2 the coil or something electrical and shorting it out. as for the airbox lid be carefull cause you dont wanna mess your air/fuel mixture up it may be gettin 2 much air maybe gain in a size on a jet if you do that plus its a real volnerable place for mud and water belive me!

Yea i fixed the stalling problem. All i did was get a new plug, spray carb n choke in the carb, clean the air filter and its fine now. try putting some dry gas in it. there might be some in the jetting or someplace in there. P.S. Im selling mine for $2650 so hit me up if interested or trade for raptor.

My Blaster has done that too, not sure what was going on, anyway look at my sig, and it's a fresh rebuild only 2 tanks of gas, mine will go bout 68mph, at least i pass my buddies prarie 650 at full speed, and he say's he's goin 65mph.... so 68mph give or take a few, 75 seems a little steep without a big bore kit

for your problems with the blaster:

i think you have a wire of somesort not allowing you to give it much gas when the parking brake is on. my friend had the same problem as you are describing. i guess this wire is shorting out. he removed this wire and hasn't had a problem since.

yea my dad suggested that it might be some electrical problem but when i pulled the plastics off and saw a bunch of wires i said screw that ill do it some other day. I had no idea where to start.

my friend said he just removed the wire from the parking break. he said it was really simple to do. just follow the wire and remove it. his bike would run fine for a while and then it would not go past idle without wanting to stall. it fixed his problem.

What wire did he remove. Alls there is cables. I dont understand how the parking brake would make it stall then not start up again for like 10 min.

his would start, just not go when you gave it gas. yamaha has that safety feature that it won't go unless the parking brake is off. since this wire was faulty, it was thinking the parking brake was on, even though it wasn't. i believe this wire went up to the parking brake, but i am not sure. you may have a different problem, i just gave a suggestion.

Problem solved: Check your needle and seat and your floats in the carb.
