Why can't the stock sleeve be bored out to accept the 330 piston? If it is due to an oversized sleeve wouldn't the jug also have to be bored to accept the new sleeve?

Also, where is the best place to by new valves and springs for the 300?

In order to put the 80mm 330cc piston in a 300EX topend, it would have to be bored .480 over. That is not possible.
The stock sleeve is pressed out, the jug is bored, and the new sleeve is pressed in.
The stock sleeve can be bored out to the maximum of .120.
74mm piston - (stock bore) = 281.70cc's.
74.5mm piston - .040 over = 285.5cc's.
75mm piston - .080 over = 289.37cc's.
75.5mm piston - .120 over = 293.24cc's.
80mm piston - .480 over = 329.23cc's.
(these figures are all based on the stock 65.5mm stroke)
(80mm is as large of bore as you can go before bottom end case modifications are required)
