Hey i was just lookin at the specs for the 04 400ex on honda's website and saw theat it has a 38mm carb now 03 said 35.5mm. Does anyone know if anything else has changed and if this will make the 400ex noticablty faster?

I'm wondering if that carb will be a benifit to my 1999 400ex, now that I have motor work done.

I just cant swing the 39 FCR yet.

dude nah...eldbrock has too stiff of a throttle...FCR 39mm owns but is $400...but...if u want a good deal...send ur carb to sparks...have them bore it to 38mm for $175 or rocky ridge racing for $150

if i did go with sparks, i'd end up sending my whole engine and getting some work done on it like 416 kit or something.

rocky ridge does a shiznit of a job and it's only 125 not 150 sparks does nothing more than rocky ridge does only with sparks you pay 50 bucks extra for the name

Racing someone means jack chit, that is not based on fact. I"ve called several dealers and they dont' know chit. They told me the prices are the same and the part numbers are teh same. Only way to find out is measure the mofo. This has been brought up several times and there is STILL NO PROOF OF THE CARB BEING BIGGER.. I"m not talkin seat of the pants proof either.. I want pics of measurements.. Cost is about $250, Rocky Ridge is $125 for the same MM.. go with RR I say.

I have a sparks Carb that I used on my 400EX, and it worked great over stock. I would sell the carb for $150.00 with shipping.

It also has a Dyno jet needle installed which cost $45.00 for the set.

Let me know if interested.

I want everybody to be informed that the '04 400EX has the same size carburetor as the previous model years. I uncrated a new '04 400EX today, The carburetor model I.D. numder is QB 10 A just like previous years 400EX. This I.D. number is stamped on to the lower left side as the carburetor. I also checked the '04 factory shop manual and it lists no changes in carburetion size. I have done everything but pull the carb off and put a measuring device to it. I know that Honda's website states that there is a 38mm on the '04 model but it has to be a misprint. The factory microfiche that your Honda parts person has 2 part numbers listed. Both of these numbers are 35.5 mm carburetors but one has the updated venting hoses. I do not mean to rain on anybody's day but this has to be cleared up.......
