Ims Tank And Maier Plastic?

I have Maier plastic on my 400EX and it wasw a pain to put on. I recently started racing XC and cant finish a race on one tank of gas. I have a pretty good pit crew helping me when i need fuel but if i can put an IMS tank on with out a lot of trouble from the plastic i would like to go that route. Any one have that setup and was it a pain to install.

i have a 300ex with an ims oversized tank, 3.2 gallons i believe, with maier race cut front plastic. Maier and IMS swear that this combo will not work, but it does. the plastics dont line up exactly right, but it works. froma far distance it looks fine, there is just a gap between the front and back fenders, so a little of the tank shows, but my tank and plastics are red, so it isnt that noticable

i have maier race plastic on mine and it takes me about 10 minutes to put on and take off. Four bolts hold it on.
