Bigger cylinder studs

I know its not a honda. lol....but im fixing up a blaster, and i just received a ported cylinder that i won off ebay. one problem...the threads where the studs screw in are stripped on 2 of them, and now i cant put the head on....which sucks.
Has anyone ever put bigger studs on?....right now it has 8mm x 1.25 studs......... couldnt i just retap it with a 9mmx1.25 tap and put in a 9mm x1.25 stud? or will a heli coil be fine??

Most of the time on 2-strokes you just have it heli-coiled and put a stock stud back in and it will work with no problems. Just make sure that it is drilled straight, other wise you will have trouble getting the head on.
