Shining 99 Honda 400ex

My plastic is looking not so good. It has some scratches but aminly the clearcoat has rubbed off. Anbody know any good clearcoat restorer or somthing that will make the shine come back.

Everyone uses armorall, WD-40 and stuff like that to bring the shine back to it. The plastic is just bear plastic, there isn't any coating on it that I am aware of. Black Magic work great too.

I found out that if you let armerol sit on the plastics for about 15 minutes then wipe off it works alot better.....looks great!!!!

I spray it on, then I wipe the armeral all over the plastics with my hand "so it's all covered" let sit. Then lightly wipe off with towel....

black magic is the best but it contains a lottof acid so if you get on on your motor mounts & a few other parts it will leave a white stain on them that will never come out :( this happened to both my mounts :eek:

once plastic gets all scratched up and loses it shine...their pretty much like that forever...no fixing it. i mean sure you can spray armorall on it to look good for taking a pic, but it comes right off so if you want the showroom shine back for good, buy new plastic.

they make stuff called plastic renew. my friend used it on his old blaster, and it worked good if you really took the time and did it right. but it does work

I use the STP "son of a gun" ( i think thats what it is) and it shines it up but it doesn't last forever but it satisfies me.

One of my friends skillfully used a small propane torch to heat the fenders to the point the plastic just starts to look shiny, then quickly buff it out. His EX looks brand-new. You could really screw this up easily though.
