Swingarm question

I was wondering what the difference of having a "link" and "no link" swingarm. The stock swingarm on the 400 is a link. But all the aftermarket companies have a no link. What are the pros and cons of both. Just curious

a no link usually has longer travel, but lacks the benefit of having a soft initial travel and stiffer resistance in the later part of the travel, and it also feels the same all the way through the travel.
