if u do tight trails and maybe some doubles but not newhere where u would be using top end power then get stage 1...if u need more wide open power for drags or motocross ect...then get stage 2...i race XC and i got a stage 2 just because if u get a high comp piston it will give u back some on the low end

I wouldnt use a hotcam even if it was given to me for free. Too many problems, even if they fixed it. Would you want to make that one person where it wrecks, nope. I would rather use a XR400 cam for a drop in. Personally I would go for a TC mx grind with hardened rockers and stiffer springs.

? why would you suggest a tc mx grind cam for trail riding..

sparks400 are you going to be doing a high compression piston?

if not use the stg 1 if you are going to use a high compression piston other than wiseco then I would use a stg 2..

I would not be running a hotcam in my own bike if I felt there was a problem with the hotcam..

Get a TC national XC 926 I believe, this cam is pricey but well worth the extra $$,This cam is a complete drop in no other mods are needed.I to would not recommend Hot Cams.....to many problems with quality.Remember what Mom told you "If it sounds to good to be true than it probably is."I dont care how much money you can save.....can you put a price on your time and piece of mind?

You will only need to run race gas on "high compression" pistons,10:5:1 will be fine on pump gas.Either piston will work for the TC cam it's all up to you on how much you want to spend on filling up the gas tank.Don't go to high on the compression or you will have to replace your head bolts with longer/stronger ones or you will blow out gaskets.I believe you can run 11:5:1 with no problems, but dont take my word on it call TC and talk to him about what you are planning and your budget and ask for his advice.

I put in a JE 10.8:1 and a stage 2 Hotcam. It's great for the dunes, and with a 14 tooth front sprocket, it kicks butt out on the trails. I rode a poker run on some really nasty trails last weekend, and never fealt like I was lacking any low end. But, I think the sprocket really helps in that department.

stage 2 hotcams own...hands down...period...ect...the problem no longer exists because they weld the flanges together...and they also fixed the peoples bikes that got screwed up...so they r fine now...go stage 1 for tight trails and short mx races with doubles...the stage 1 gives u that extra blip of power to make it over...or go stage 2 for more open tracks, XC races, desert, ect...where u can really open it up

i just had a stock bore 11.1 wiseco piston and a stage 2 hotcam put in about 3 weeks ago...that stage 2 rocks!!! it seems for really tight trails, you have to keep your revs up or it sorta "bogs" your engine. but on the straights, and the open trails, it makes quite a difference. i really like it.
